Dr. Alexia Tsakiris, BVetMed, CVA, CVHM, GDipVWHM
Dr Alexia Tsakiris was born and raised on the Jersey shore in Monmouth Beach. She received her B.S. from Cook College, Rutgers University in 2002 and soon after, graduated with her BVetMed from the Royal Veterinary College in London in 2005.
After graduation, Dr. Tsakiris began her career working as a small animal vet, with a focus on internal medicine. It wasn’t until several years later in 2008, at a veterinarian conference, attending a lecture on acupuncture, that she would receive an enlightenment that would forever change the course of her practice.
Driven by the prospect of being able to help her patients further, she earned her Certificate of Veterinary Acupuncture in 2009, from the Chi Institute in Florida, opening her world up to many other holistic modalities.
Continuing her education, Dr. Tsakiris received her Certificate of Veterinary Herbal Medicine (Western) in 2014 and her Graduate Diploma of Veterinary Western Herbal Medicine (GDipVWHM) in June of 2017, at the College of Integrative Veterinary Therapies (CIVT) where she went on to join the faculty that fall.
Fueled by her true passion for herbal medicine, she studied under world renowned Ethnobotanist, David Winston RH(AHG) in his two year Clinical Herbalist Program (2014-2016), working toward her goal of becoming a registered herbalist.
Since seeing the remarkable benefits of chiropractic, Dr. Tsakiris began pursuing her veterinary spinal manipulation certificate through the Health Pioneers Institute in Chicago in January of 2017.
Outside of Blue Sage, her flourishing holistic animal wellness office in Little Silver, NJ, she has two beautiful boys, husband Tommy, dogs Margarita and Lulu, and four chickens who all keep her very busy!
